Worrying About Acne? Here’s Some Help

Women can suffer from acne at any age and at any time. You will be able to control it more if you knew why it’s happening. To help you deal with it better, here are some important information.

Causes of acne

Teenagers are usually more susceptible to acne. This is because their bodies are undergoing hormonal changes that can cause their sebum production to increase and their skin pores to get clogged, leading to acne development.

For adult women, acne usually comes a few days before menstruation. Stress can also cause pimples or acne to appear. There are also women who are just genetically predisposed to developing pimples.

How to take control

If you experience acne a few days before your menstrual period, then you have nothing to worry about, they will just disappear a few days after just as quickly as they appeared. For teenage girls, the pimples will also eventually disappear as they grow older.

The best thing to do is to keep your face clean. Wash your face with mild soap or facial wash and avoid touching or scratching your face. Don’t try to pop your pimples; it will only make them worse.

A healthy diet and exercise can also help alleviate this skin problem. Eating lots of fruits and drinking lots of water will definitely help, and so is staying out of the sun. If the condition is severe, consult a doctor and get prescriptions for over the counter remedies.

The severity by which acne affects women varies from case to case. Ask your dermatologist for help if the problem keeps persisting.
